Afternoon Art Adventures
Join us for a tour through history as we learn about a variety of artists and techniques!
This drop-off style class for children ages 5-11 will include instruction on the week's feature artist or technique while simultaneously leaving room for the student to explore her/his own artistic style. We will begin each afternoon coming together as a group and learning about the week's feature artist! A healthy snack will be provided as we research the artist's works and examine what makes their style unique. Once we have acquired enough inspiration from our artist we will focus on creating our own masterpieces!
We will study artists from differing cultures, time periods, styles, and movements! Artists we have studied in the past are Georgia O'Keeffe, Frida Khalo, Jackson Pollock, Kehinde Wiley, and Yayoi Kusama. We will be introducing an ALL NEW set of artists in our new session!
We will use an assortment of real materials including but not limited to: canvases, acrylic paints, liquid watercolors, photographs, oil pastels, charcoal, fibers, and more!
